cooking, in some thought.

I saw one of my best friend status in facebook a couple days ago. He wrote:

"For some people cooking is an art. They can feel the soul of each potatoes, carrots, pan, stove and whatever in your kitchen. Everything come in and dance on the oil and form a magnificent food. Its about beauty and perfection. Alala

Some people say cooking is the way to enjoy urself. Run away from your daily rutinity, take off every duty. Its only you and your food.

For me, cooking is mixing everything. All stuffs you buy is all what you get on your plate. No matter what they say about your food. Its only your stomach and your food.

gutten appetit."

as for me, cooking is my other way to find happiness. To experience new things. To explore new taste. To give care for other people. and it's fact, that people need food, and food comes by cook.

The Amazing Race Asia, Bangkok (2), Grand Palace

at the same day as we arrived Bangkok, we choose a half day tour to see the Grand Palace building. the tour cost about 400 Baht for transport and tour guide, and we still have to pay 400 Baht for the entrance ticket. this building was a palace for the King and his family a long time ago but now the government used it as one of main tourist attraction and the current King is not live in this place.

Grand Palace is a very large building complex and located near the main river in Bangkok, Chao Phraya.
as the characteristic of the traditional building in Thailand, the buildings have a typical roof and dominated by golden color.

in this complex also, they have a long wall that had a hand painted on it that tell us a story about Rama. it's very nice, and i wonder how many people that painted it since the painting is so nice and has a detailed picture.

Thailand people has a pair of statue which represents the guardian of the building.
it's kinda scary and big, but still, it's beautiful and manly statue :D




well, i cannot give you a detail explanation, since i'm not the travel guide. :D

The Amazing Race Asia, Bangkok (1), Suvarnabhumi Airport

Here's begin the story!

we depart from Jakarta in the early morning at 16th of November 2011.
have a connected flight in KLIA Malaysia, we arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, a very spacious airport with flight from all over the world and full by tourist although they have a flood issue at that time.

Suvarnabhumi (in Thai languange, ท่าอากาศยานสุวรรณภูมิ ) has means 'Lake of Gold' or 'Golden Land' and its name is given by the King.
and anyway, since Thailand has a monarchy and it is still exist until now, there are many of King and Queen pictures attached in various place in the town, include in the airport.

my first thought when i arrived here was, 'aah, this is where Nichkhun and the other member of Running Man (variety show in South Korea) had filmed the episode of Bangkok race'.
Nickhun is a singer in Korea but he comes from Thailand, and also works as tourist ambassador for Thailand.

me and my friends come empty handed to Thailand, which means we didn't apply for a tour before we went there. But don't worry, since Thailand has a very well organized tourist management, you can have a choices of tour right in the airport.
what i like about this country tourist management is, they have a same price for one kind of tour in every tourist agency. so we didn't fell hesitated to choose or feel tricked by the tourist agency.

one tip for you, if you went by a group of people, ask them to give you a discount. just give them a big smile and ask them to lower the price of the tour. and also, if you pick more than one kind of tour, the usually cut the price.

and now, we are ready to discover Bangkok! :D

The Amazing Race Asia

Well, it is not the true Amazing Race Asia program that broadcast in AXN (if I'm not mistaken).
It is just a story about me, and my friends, who travel to Bangkok-Kyoto-Singapore in one go.

The story will be divided into 3 parts, depend on the city which i traveled.
I write this story just to remind me of which place that i already visited, so that the memory of that place will last forever, at least in this blog.

So I hope for everyone that read this blog will be amused, and maybe one or two things from my blog can be a guidance for you all.

A very happy family, mom and dad with 4 kids and also one uncle become a victim for that tragedy.
